It is that time of year when it is common to stop and reflect about the past year and consider those tasks that are still on the list to be accomplished before year’s end. As a family-owned and operated plumbing business, here at Benjamin Franklin Plumbing in Southern Pines, we go through the same things you do.
That being said, we thought this might be a good time to tell you a bit about our family and the past year. At the helm of the company is Bridget and her husband, Adam, both born and raised here in Moore County. With 4 children (Tirzah is 15, AJ is 10, Asher is 2, and newest addition, Phebe, is 5 months) and a host of interests, we are kept plenty busy. Thankfully, there are always helping hands around, as Adam’s younger brother, Aaron, and our oldest daughter, Tirzah, are also involved in the business. We have a great team, including Joshua, our junior plumbing technician, Richard, our executive water officer, Teressa, our customer service representative, and Travis, our plumber’s helper.
Thanks to all their help, we are able to take part in activities that balance out our work and life experiences. Tirzah enjoyed horseback riding lessons when she was younger and has been able to get back into riding again. AJ enjoyed the sense of pride of rebuilding an old dirt bike and loves getting to the track to practice whenever possible. We’re still hoping that Adam will soon be able to get back to his love of drag car racing that he enjoyed before all the hours put into renovating our shop, providing top-quality plumbing services, and enjoying time with the family. Bridget’s passion is outdoor activities, including training for and competing in marathons and both ironman and half ironman competitions.
One of the most rewarding experiences we went through this year was seeing the amazing support and love from our community during the Hurricane Florence Relief Drive we ran for the relief effort in New Bern, North Carolina. What we thought would be a few items quickly blossomed to fill not only our break room, but our conference room, as well. We are so thankful for all the generosity and kind words. It’s just one thing we love about our customers, friends, and community.
So, now it is time to look forward to the rest of the year and for us, that means helping our customers take care of those last few home improvements you might want to get done and getting ready for colder temperatures. If you haven’t done so yet, be sure to remember to detach all hoses from outside faucets to prevent them from freezing and bursting a pipe. We are also running two specials:
- $99 Clog Special – We’ll come out and take care of small indoor drains so you can be confident they’ll run smoothly throughout the winter.
- $75 Off Water Heater Replacement – Nothing beats a hot shower on a cold day for taking away that chilled feeling, opening up the sinuses, and relaxing muscles after shoveling snow. Be sure your water heater provides plenty of hot water in an efficient and reliable manner with a new, energy-efficient water heater. We’re happy to assess your current water heater to let you know if it is nearing or beyond its potential lifespan.
